There is a possibility we could set a new record high for the day today.  John Haase, National Weather Service Forecaster in the Quad Cities says warm air has been building in the south with an area of high pressure.  He adds with the full sun, and southerly winds, the record could be broken.

Haase adds the warmer air will be in the area through tomorrow before cooling down to near normal later this week and into next week.  The record high for today in Washington is 97 set back in 1953 and if the record is tied or broken, it will be the 15th time that has happened this year.
