South East Iowa Research Farm will celebrate 25 years tomorrow.

The farm near Crawfordville was established in 1987, but according to Agricultural Engineer specialist with the Johnson County Extension, Greg Brenneman plans for the farm originated in the early ‘80’s with the formation of an association that raised money from 21 counties for the farm.

The farm practices new farming techniques suggested by Iowa State University and members of the farm’s board.

Brenneman adds there will be many noteworthy speakers as well as an update on the future of agriculture at the ceremony tomorrow that starts at noon.
