IMS and WACO faced off in Southeast Iowa Super conference play last night, and the Warriors broke threw with the win.

The first inning for WACO’s Sara Conwell gave her two strikeouts and no runs, and that would be her story for the rest of the game. Striking out six IMS batters, two walks and two hits in a 12-0 win over IMS in three innings.

The opposite happened for IMS’s pitcher Keilah Brokaw, as she threw 35 pitches in the first inning, walked seven and had four runs scored against her. She finished up the game going just two and a third innings striking out one, walking 14 and giving up all 12 runs.

WACO head coach Michelle Wade said despite it ending early and with only three hits on the night for WACO she was happy with her girls.

“It wasn’t the best night, there were a couple of walks in there that moved runners,” Wade said. “But when we did hit the ball we made solid contacts. My catcher almost took my leg off there in the [third inning] it was good to seem them hit the ball hard again, we’ve kind of been lacking that for a little bit.”

WACO improves to 4-6 while IMS falls to 3-7
