A program is returning to Washington for youth to promote physical activity this summer. The VERB Summer Scorecard Program operates on a basis similar to library-based reading programs where children are encouraged to exercise over the summer. Josh Riffel, Washington Y Program Director says children will be given a scorecard with boxes that they will need to have an adult fill in showing they took part in some sort of healthy activity.
He says children can win prizes as the program goes on and completing more scorecards adds to their chances of winning a grand prize at the end of the summer. For more information on the VERB Summer Scorecard Program, contact Josh Riffel at the Washington Y.
