Area Farmer Talks Drought

Posted By News On @ 6:26 am In Today's Local News | Comments Disabled

With the current drought conditions, an area crop producer elaborates on what he’s been seeing. Jim Cuddeback is a corn and soybean producer in the Washington area and shares the last time he’s seen condition’s like this was in 1988.

He adds it’s been so warm some of his corn is starting to droop, a signal that the crop is done growing, something that usually isn’t seen until early September. He says he’s prepared for a meager yield and notes his crop insurance will most likely be his only income for the year.
