Crooked Creek Days in Winfield is less than week away. Winfield City Clerk Angie Oepping shares that one the unique and most popular events at the three day festival is the Cardboard Boat Regatta held at the Country Club on Friday.
She adds there are two classes. In one class, participants are given an hour to make a boat that will float out of the provided material. Contestants in the other class have time in advance and are already constructing their boats. In the past the latter has seen a cardboard boat that holds 6 people.
