Demon Softball Starts State Run

The Washington softball team starts their run at state tonight when they host Davenport North.

The Demons played Iowa City West on Thursday and lost to them 10-1, after splitting with Cedar Rapids Xavier earlier in the week.

The No. 7 Demons are in the top five in class 4A in Runs, hits, doubles, RBI’s Stolen Bases, On base percentage, slugging and batting average, and many of those are in the top two of the state.

Their pitching staff has a combined ERA of 2.48 with opponents hitting .210.

Davenport North had to beat Mt. Pleasant 8-1 to get to this game with the Demons.

Their team is hitting .277 and their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.96 and opponents are hitting .266 off of them.
