The most recent drought information released by the National Climatic Data Center shows conditions in southeast Iowa slowly becoming worse even with the three-quarters of an inch of rainfall we received last week. The moderately dry conditions is growing over the east central and south central portion of the state with a small portion of Appanoose, Davis and Van Buren Counties seeing a severe drought.
The dryness is predicted to get worse as a below normal chance of rainfall is expected over the next 30 days. KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
