The most recent drought information has been released by National Climatic Data Center and conditions in southeast Iowa have worsened over the last week.  After receiving spotty rainfall in the last week, southeast Iowa is now classified as experiencing a severe drought.  These conditions cover the eastern two-thirds of Iowa.

Relief from the dryness is not expected to arrive any time soon as a below normal chance of rainfall is forecasted over the next 30 to 90 days.  KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
