Early Morning Accident in Henry County

An accident was reported in Henry County early this morning. According to the Henry County Sheriff, around 2:30 this morning, a semi rollover accident was reported in the median of Highway 218 at mile marker 44 northeast of Mt. Pleasant.  The semi loaded with hogs driven by Harvey Driesen of Rock Valley rolled onto its side after driving onto the shoulder.

Those responding to the scene were the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Mt. Pleasant Fire Department, Eichelberger Farms of Wayland, Tri-Oak Foods of Burlington, Harbison Trucking of Morning Sun, Agri-Center of Mt. Pleasant, the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement and the Iowa Department of Transportation.

The accident which blocked the center lanes in both directions was cleared by 8:20. There were no reported injuries.
