Riverside is enlisting the help of a former mayor during the City Clerk transition.

During a special meeting last Saturday Kalona agreed to loan one of their employees to perform the duties of City Clerk for the time being.Earlier this week Kalona decided this wasn’t the right time and decided not to go forward with the agreement.

The decision was then made to hire former mayor Dawn McCoy to work from 1 to 4:30 weekdays at $14 an hour until the position is filled.
