Heat from Last Week Causes Pavement Problems
Posted By News On @ 6:25 am In Today's Local News | Comments Disabled
Area road crews are busy fixing problems caused by last week’s heat wave. County Engineer Jacob Thorius says about a dozen reports were received of buckled pavement toward the end of last week. He says crews responded and patched the roads to allow traffic flow, and contractors are working on making permanent patches this week.
Buckled pavement is caused by pressure building in the concrete from the heat making it expand making for unsafe driving conditions.
He notes to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office or his office if you should notice any buckled pavement.
