A hunter safety class offered by the Washington County Conservation Board starts tomorrow.  Ranger Bob Bellmer at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park says per Iowa law, anyone born after January 1, 1972 has to be certified in hunter education before they can buy an Iowa hunting license.

Those aged 11 years old and older can participate however the certificate of completion is not valid until the youth hunter’s 12th birthday.  Bellmer says the first two sessions are tomorrow and Thursday night from 6:00 to 9:00 pm followed by the last class on Saturday from 8:00 to noon.

He notes attendance is required at all three classes.  This is the only class being offered by the Washington County Conservation Board for the fall.  For more information, contact the Conservation Education Center at 319-657-2400 or Bob Bellmer at 319-461-0341.
