IMS used a big first inning to steal momentum and take a road playoff win in the first round of district play Tuesday night at Highland, eliminating the Huskies 10-2. IMS posted four runs in the top of the first and kept putting pressure on Highland scoring a pair in both the second and third innings to lead 8-0. Cameron Gingerich recorded the win on the hill for IMS going all seven innings, allowing nine hits, two runs and striking out seven. At the plate IMS was led by Gingerich who went one for three with two driven in and a run scored, Aaron Ockenfels also drove two on three hits and scored a run. IMS is now 16-10 on the season and will be in second round district action against the #6 ranked Lisbon Lions. That game will be played Thursday night at Highland.
