The City of Kalona is taking steps to get the Bunker Mill Trail project started.At the last City Council meeting, approval was sought for the application of a $75,000 REAP Grant.

City Administrator Ryan Schabaugh shares that the grant would be used for a ¾ mile trail within the city park. This would be the first step for the Bunker Mill Trail that it would connect to.

Schlabaugh adds the City is in the process of applying for grants and that he’d like to get started on the Bunker Mill Trail and the Bunker Mill Bridge restoration by next spring.
