The Mid-Prairie baseball team continued their hot ways in the warm weather Saturday night throttling Cardinal of Eldon 12-0 in five innings in the first round of district play.
The Golden Hawks scored in each at bat after the first, one in the second, three in the third including a solo homer by Jason Schrock, two in the fourth and a big six run sixth inning. On the mound Jonas Coblentz was as good as his offense, allowing just two hits on the night and striking out seven in the shortened shut out. Mid-Prairie had seven batters record hits and all nine men in the lineup reached base at least once. Mid-Prairie is now 21-16 on the year and will next be in action Tuesday night in the second round of district play against #1 Davis County. The Mustangs are the defending state champions in class 2A. We will have all of the action for you live on KCII with pregame at 6:45 and first pitch at 7PM live from Eddyville-Blakesburg High School.
