Demon Baseball Punches Ticket to State

The Washington Demons baseball team defeated the Williamsburg Raiders by a score of 5 to 1,  earning a  spot at the state tournament. They will be playing next week.

Description: The Brinton Film Festival Ice Cream Social will be held at the Ainsworth Opera House on Friday July 27th and Saturday July 28th. Doors open at 7:30. They’ll be showing classic films and serving ice cream. Cost is a free will donation and proceeds go toward upkeep on the building.

Hunter Safety Classes

Title: Hunter Safety Classes
Description: The Washington County Conservation Board will be hosting a Hunter Safety Class at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park. The class will run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31 and Thursday, August 2 and will finish on Saturday, August 4, from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Attendance at all three sessions is required. Pre-registration is required. Register online at: www.iowadnr.gov/training under Hunter Education classes or contact Kathy at the Conservation Center, 319/657-2400. Mid-Prairie Softball

The Mid-Prairie Girls Softball team beat Davenport Assumption this morning winning 9-0.  The Golden Hawks lost to East Marshall 3-0 in the battle for for fifth place.
