Police Looking For Answers After Multiple Church Burglaries

Police are asking for the publics help after multiple church burglaries. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in their investigation of the five church break-ins.

Since the first of July incidents have been reported at Faith United Church in Libertyville, Calvary Baptist Church in Batavia, the Pleasant Plain Friends Church, the Jubilee Kingdom Gathering Church in Fairfield and the Church of Jesus Christ of Letter Day Saints in Fairfield.

Additional church burglaries have been reported in Wapello, Keokuk and Henry Counties during the same time frame. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
