Iowa is getting ready to hold their sales tax holiday next month.  Clothing and footwear considered appropriate for everyday wear such as shirts, pants, hats, socks and shoes under $100 each are exempt from state and local option sales tax during this holiday.

Washington Economic Development Group Director Ed Raber says to the best of his knowledge, Iowa’s tax free weekend was the first of its kind in the country.

Now in its thirteenth year, Iowa’s tax free weekend promises to be a big benefit to local businesses in southeast Iowa.  Iowa’s tax free weekend is happening August 3rd and August 4th.
