The Kalona City Council went over their 2012 street projects at this weeks meeting. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh shares that there are 6 projects and one alternate. The next step is bid letting. The City will take two bids one for the concrete and one for the asphalt. The estimate for the projects is $392,000. Schlabaugh says they’ll start the projects later this year, around late August early September.

A Avenue by City Shop, concrete is to be put in due to the high level of traffic

13^th St cul-de-sac in the north part of town

9^th Street will be paved with asphalt from K to M Street and connecting 9^th and 10^th Street

A small section between 4^th and 5^th St on H Avenue

Section between 9^th and 10^th on D Avenue

Alternate: Section by proposed mini park on 3^rd St from B to C Avenue, to be done after park is completed
