The City of Wapello is in the process of replacing their warning sirens. According to Public Works Director, Mike Delzell, the town is doing research and getting cost estimates.
The current warning sirens were installed in the 1960’s. Delzell says that the town has grown since then and the sirens don’t cover the city completely.
He adds he’ll be contacting a Nebraska business that has previously approached the city to get them to get their recommendation. The City wants to have the sirens installed before next spring.
