Blood supplies across the country are at a 15 year low, which prompts the question “how are our hospitals doing?” According to Kirby Winn with Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, all the hospitals they serve are stocked. But he adds summer is always a difficult time. Factors including the hot weather, school break and ball games all affect the amount of donations they receive. Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center provides blood for 85 hospitals across four states including Hospitals in Washington, Jefferson, Henry and Keokuk Counties.
