As the new school year approaches, parents need to remember to have their children’s shot records current.  Lynn Fisher from Washington County Public Health says children getting ready to enter Kindergarten are required by state law to have their child’s immunization record available and make sure everything is up to date.

She also says the recommended shots for teenagers are tetanus booster, meningitis, second chicken pox and HPV.  Fisher says to check with your primary doctor or Public Health to get a copy of your shot records to see which ones might be needed.
