Some may have noticed some construction outside of the Middle and High school in Columbus Junction. According to Columbus Community School District Superintendent Marlene Johnson, one of the two new buildings will be an administration building, a joint effort between the district and Muscatine Community College. The building will house offices for the Central Office, a board room and classrooms for high school and adult learning classes. The other facility will house a new gym and wrestling room. Construction on both began this summer and should be finished by next fall.
