The Columbus Junction City Council reviewed bids for a new water treatment plant last week. According to City Clerk, Julie Heindal, the two bids submitted were looked at, but there was little discussion on the matter.

The two bidders were present at the meeting, Windler Construction whose bid was around $3 million 900 thousand dollars and Leander Construction whose bid was over 4 million 300 thousand dollars.

At the meeting a motion was made to send the bids to the groups helping with funding, the EDA and CDBG, for their recommendation. Heindal adds they hope to have them back for the City Council meeting on the 26th of September.
