Columbus Junction will hold another round of bid letting for the proposed water treatment plant.

According to City Clerk Julie Heindal, each of the three bids the City rejected in the first round were more than $1 million over the initial estimate. The original estimate was set at around $3 million.

She adds several items will need to be removed or changed, but either way the City will most likely need to borrow money. Currently funding comes from the EDA and Community Development Block Grants.
