A man from Fairfield will spend more than six years in prison after pleading guilty to a drug charge. 26 year old, Joseph Keith Haynes II, was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment and 4 years probation, Thursday.

He had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana. According to a statement from United States Attorney Nicholas Klinefeldt, Haynes distributed at least 220 pounds of marijuana, between February 2011 and December 2011.

The case was investigated by the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Coralville Police Department, the Fairfield Police Department, the Iowa City Police Department, the Ottumwa Police Department, the University of Iowa Police Department, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington County Sheriffs Office.
