The one to three inches of rainfall received last weekend was beneficial in relieving the drought conditions in southeast Iowa.  According to the latest information from the National Climatic Data Center, all of the counties in the KCII listening area are now considered as severely dry.  Across Iowa, nearly 58 percent of the state is seeing extreme drought conditions, a drop of almost ten percent from last week.

The forecast is calling for below normal precipitation chances next month leaving the overall conditions to remain the same.  KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
