An opportunity for area farmers to help their local communities grow has returned for another year.  The Monsanto America’s Farmers Grow Communities program directs $2,500 to non‑profit organizations in their local communities.  Since this program started three years ago more than seven point two million dollars has been donated to more than 2900 farmers in rural America says Linda Arnold, from the Monsanto Corporation.

She says a winner will be chosen in each eligible county in January of next year.  Last year, Steve and Sue Norman from Washington County chose the Washington County Fair Association to receive the grant.  A link to the applications that are due November 30th can be found under here.
