The IMS volleyball team played in the Fairfield tournament last night and went 1-2.

IMS took on 4A Fairfield in their first match and dropped both games 25-18 and 25-21.

It was the same story against Eddyville- Blakesburg as they dropped both games 25-21 and 25-15.

IMS didn’t give up though, playing their best volleyball in their last game, defeating Albia 25-19 and 25-12 to take the match.

Olivia Yutzy had 16 kills, 16 digs and three aces, while Casey Perez had nine kills, 19 digs, 37 assists and nine aces on the night.

Head coach Cindy Miller said she was impressed with the team’s overall performance in their first competition, and that all the teams were tough, and she was happy that they took even just one win, although they were in every game of every match.

IMS is now 1-2 on the season.
