Victim and Driver Identified in Kalona Incident

Erratic driving is to blame after a multiple person incident involving a truck. According to the Washington County Safety Center they received multiple reports of an out of control driver on C Avenue in the parking lot of the Kalona Sales Barn at approximately 10 yesterday morning.

Five subjects were injured and 70 year old Donald L. Breed of Freeport, Illinois was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was 73 year old James Walter Greiner of South English.The accident is currently being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.  KCII will bring you more information as soon as it becomes official.

Those responding include the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Kalona Fire Department and Rescue Unit, the Kalona First Responders, the Washington County Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol and University of Iowa Air Care Ambulance, with personnel from the Johnson County Sheriffs Office and the Johnson County Ambulance Services providing assistance.
