An annual event held before the start of the school year has received high marks.  This event sponsored by the Washington Chamber of Commerce allows the community to show their appreciation to the staff from the Washington School District and St. James School along with the Assure Center and Kirkwood Community College.

St. James Principal Teresa Beenblossom says this event is a great way to come together with the community and the public schools to reach the ultimate goal which is the children’s education.  Local businesses pay for the breakfast, making it free of charge for the almost 300 teachers, support staff and school aids.  The breakfast was held in the new high school yesterday morning.
