The Lone Tree Lions volleyball team opens up their season with a couple of road tournaments before staying on the road for the first conference game against IMS on August 30th.
The Lions will see home court advantage for a couple of games after that and will play WACO the week before the Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament on September 20th.
After the tournament Lone Tree will see the toughest part of their schedule, facing Wapello and Mediapolis back to back.
New co-head coach Kelsey Teubel said that the Lions have looked good during their practices and are starting moving forward from fundamentals next week.
“Right now we have everyone in a group, and we’re going to keep focusing on the little things,” Teubel said. “But as next week comes along we’re going to split off into varsity, JV and Fresh/Soph and we’re going to go into the kind of play scenarios once everyone is split up.”
Lone Tree finished eighth last season with a 2-9 record in the conference.
