The Mid-Prairie Board of Education was given a recommendation on a new central office at this week’s meeting. A representative for Shive-Hattery went over plans for a 1.4 million dollar central office that would be built on the same site as the current office.

Superintendent Mark Schneider says there was some sticker shock from the board, and adds they’ll be going over the recommendation to see if there are ways to lower the cost.

Schneider adds the Board will be considering their options and a decision will most likely come in the next month or two.

All funding for the project will come from sales tax funds, funds the district already has.
