Mid-Prairie Football Faces 3A Clear Creek Amana in Home Opener

The Mid-Prairie football team hosts another 3A school tonight in Clear Creek Amana.

The Golden Hawks lost 30-0 to Washington last week in Washington, and hope to turn things around against the Clippers.

CCA is 1-0 after winning 35-7 over Independence. They used a balance running and passing attack with 27 throws through the air for 206 yards and 51 running attempts for 254 yards.

Mid-Prairie saw 80 rushing attempts by the Demons last week, but gave up the most yards on the spread triple option sets by the Demons.

Mid-Prairie faced less than 20 passes and held the Demons under 100 yards receiving.

The Golden Hawks gave up six turnovers in the game, including four interceptions. The Clippers had two picks in their last game.

Mid-Prairie and Clear Creek Amana face off tonight in Wellman at 7:30.
