The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks football team is holding their Gator Bowl tonight.

The Gator Bowl is a preview of the high school volleyball and football teams in a scrimmage between squads, and admission is a bottle of Gatorade.

For the football side, head coach Pete Cavanugh said there will be tackles involved, but the scrimmage will pretty calm.

“The scrimmage is fairly limited, we’ll let them tackle and stuff, but we’re not going to play a whole game, it will be controlled,” Cavanaugh said. “[We’ll] run basic plays and see who can block and tackle, and who can play under the lights. It just gives our kids an opportunity to put the game stuff on before next week.”

The schedule for tonight’s Mid-Prairie Gator Bowl is a booster club dinner at 5 P.M. the volleyball scrimmage at 5:45 p.m., JV football at 6 p.m., and then all of the Mid-Prairie football players and coaches will be auctioned off at 7 P.M. for four hours of labor.

Finally, the varsity Scrimmage will be at 7:30 P.M.
