The deadline for residents of Washington County wishing to file nomination papers for non-party offices for this fall’s General Election ballot is tomorrow. County Auditor Dan Widmer says items on November’s ballot include terms of the county hospital board, agricultural extension council and soil conservation commission along with the Brighton and Clay Township Trustees.
The Ward 3 Washington City Council seat and a seat on the Kalona City Council are up for election as well to fill vacancies. Anyone wanting to run as an independent for County Auditor; Sheriff; and for Supervisor in Districts 1, 2, and 4 can also file.
All nomination papers are due by 5:00 pm tomorrow. For more information, contact the Washington County Auditor’s Office at (319) 653-7717.
