The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved the changes to the Orchard Hill project at yesterdays meeting. The Orchard Hill Building project start date has been pushed back two weeks due to a change in funding. The lowest bid received for the project was over budget and an additional $19,000 in Community Development Block Grants were approved. The start date for this $568,000 project is set for the 20th and should be completed by mid to late December. Letters of Support for
Washington and Kalona were approved for their application for funds through REAP. Washington wants to use the $100,000 their requesting to pave the Kewash Trail west of HW 1.
Also there was an amendment made to the County’s Zoning Ordinance in reference to farm houses and how their zoned.
