The latest drought monitor is showing southeast Iowa conditions improving slightly.  According to the most recent information from the National Climatic Data Center, the three-quarters of an inch of rain received has helped to improve the conditions.

Nearly 70 percent of Iowa was seeing extreme drought conditions last week and this week that number has dropped by eight percent.

Little relief is expected in the near future as the drought conditions are forecasted to remain the same through November.  KCII will continue to monitor the drought conditions across southeast Iowa.
