130 bikers made their way to Riverside Saturday afternoon for a road race. This was the first year the Iowa State Road Race Championships were held in Riverside. The race was a 32 mile loop that started by Murphy’s Bar and Grill and consisted of Riverside Road, Old Highway 218 and G36.

There were 11 different categories with a range of difficulties. The most challenging being the Men’s Pro. Riders in that category did three loops, a total of 96 miles. According to Race Director Mark Guthart Riverside people came from all over the Midwest to take part in this contest.
