Stabbing Incident Leads to Arrest

A stabbing incident in Washington has led to an arrest.  According to the Washington County Safety Center, around 6:15 last night, a report was received of a subject who had been stabbed in the arm in the 300 block of East 2nd Street in Washington.

Emergency personnel from the Washington Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responding to the scene arrested 18 year old Joshua Michael Bergen of Columbus Junction for willful injury and public intoxication.

The victim was taken to Washington County Hospital by Washington County Ambulance where they were treated and released.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.  The incident is under investigation and KCII will bring you more information when it becomes official.
