Washington County’s 2012 Fair Queen placed well in the State Fair Queen Contest.  Lexi Marek was named as the first runner-up.  Marek, the daughter of Tim and Heather Marek of Riverside, was one of 102 contestants participating in the competition.

The judging was based on personality, attitude, awareness, leadership, citizenship, contribution to community, overall appearance, charm and poise.

As a result of her being chosen as first runner-up, Marek earns a $1300 scholarship and a $300 gift card to Jordan Creek Mall.  She also received a plaque from the State Fair and a floral bouquet.
