Residents of Washington County wishing to file nomination papers for non-party offices for this fall’s General Election ballot are due the end of the month.  County Auditor Dan Widmer says terms of the county hospital board, agricultural extension council and soil conservation commission will be filled at the election along with the Brighton and Clay Township Trustees.

The Ward 3 Washington City Council seat and a seat on the Kalona City Council are up for election to fill vacancies.

Anyone wanting to run as an independent for County Auditor; Sheriff; and for Supervisor in Districts 1, 2, and 4 can file as well.  All nomination papers are due by 5:00 pm on the 29th.
