The No. 15 WMU Wolves volleyball team finished third in the West Branch Tournament this weekend going 3-1 overall.

The Wolves entered pool play and had lots of success sweeping all three teams they played.

WMU beat Iowa City Regina 21-12 and 21-16, defeated Central City 21-16 and 21-14 and won against conference opponent Lone Tree 21-9 and 21-13.

The Wolves qualified for the semifinals where they faced Eddyville-Blakesburg, and went to three sets with them, dropping game one 25-15, winning game two 26-24 and then taking the third game to an extra point but losing game three 16-14.

Alicia Escher led the team in kills for the tournament with 22, and added three blocks and 25 digs to her stats as well, while Erica Robinson had 17 kills. Katie Benson had 40 assists and Anna Crawford had 28 digs.

Four different players on the Wolves had six aces, including Escher, Crawford, Shelby Therme and Katie Benson.

WMU is now 4-2 on the season and play L-M on Thursday.
