The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed Veterans Affairs and taxes as part of their meeting this week.  They reappointed Jeffrey Johnston to another three-year term as a Veterans Affairs Commissioner.  His term will expire June 30th, 2015.

The Supervisors also established a tax increment financing agreement with the city of Washington.  Washington City Administrator Brent Hinson says there are many factors that are involved with this agreement and the city is requesting a 12-year plan instead of the normal ten as a precautionary measure.

He adds the city has a goal of having the TIF paid back after nine years.  This agreement is for the Oakwood Village Subdivision.
