The Washington Demons will play their Homecoming game tonight against a highly ranked Marion football team.

Both teams enter this non-district game 2-1, but Marion has only allowed seven points in the two games they won, and lost their only game 35-0 to No.1 Decorah.

The Indians like to keep the ball on the ground, with they’re lead running back Trev Beiry. He is one yard short of 300 this season and has four touchdowns.

Marion has two other backs that also get the ball, with Tyler Gunderson and Colton Mowry, both have touchdowns and over 100 yards rushing.

Washington could be in luck with their facing the run, as they have been solid against the run as of late, with only allowing 50 yards of total rushing against Fairfield.

The Demons will look to use their triple option pistol formation to trick Marion, and put the ball and decisions into Daryn Seibelius’s hands to decide who to give it to.

Head coach Randy Schrader says his team will have a fight tonight, especially against the lines on both sides of the ball.

“They’re like a bunch of road creators, they’re huge. One kid is 6’7” 300 plus pounds, another kid is about 300 pounds,” Schrader said. “They’re just a good football team, they’re coming off a tough season, they weren’t very good last year, but they have been good in the past, and coach Perkins does a great job up there and has been there for a number of years, and they just present a lot of problems for us.”
