A presentation on careers was given recently to Washington high school students.  Representatives from the Workplace Learning Connection gave a program on how they work with businesses on getting students ready for the job market.  Principal Eric Buchholz says this job preparation is done through internships, job shadows, career fairs and mock interviews and allows the students to look at a possible career before spending money at college to focus on that career.

The preparation also helps to build relationships that could lead to a future employment opportunity for the student.  Workplace Learning Connection is a partnership with Kirkwood Community College and the Grant Wood Area Education Agency.
