The Highland Cross Country team was at the Washington home invite yesterday, and their boys finished third without their top runner Matt Eden.

The Huskie’s top runner was Tucker Hall who finished fifth, with a time of 17:06. Other scorers for Highland were Keiffer Sexton in ninth and Evan Mahler in 10th. Josh Brase was 20th and Zach Popham finished out the scoring with a 27th place finish.

Highland was third with 71 points.

For the Highland girls, only two ran at the meet, and the top finisher was Bridget Murphy in 21st with a time of 18:39. Behind her was Amber Bean in 26th.

After the meet head coach Angie Stroble talked about how her team did.

“I felt like they did pretty well,”Stroble said. “We had a couple of people missing tonight, but I felt like we did pretty well despite those people sitting out due to injuries.”
