A survey was taken recently of employers across the state and one in Washington made the list. According to a Des Moines media group, the Washington Community School District has been chosen as a top employer in the state. Superintendent Dr. Mike Jorgensen says a survey was sent out in the spring to the employees.
After looking at the more than 60 percent returned, the scores were tabulated to put them on the list. Some of the questions included employee appreciation and management-employee relations.
He adds the District found out in June that they were ranked 12th on the list of mid-sized employers. Dr. Jorgensen notes receiving this recognition can help in recruiting good teachers and other employees.
