Recently, the library in Davenport was faced with having to discard old books in order to have space for new ones.  Library Director Debbie Stanton says here in Washington, that issue is something they won’t have to face for many years.  She says at the old location, as new books would be added, older ones would end up being sold in the annual book sale in order to have space.

Stanton says the plans for the new library were drawn so they included plenty of room for growth.  She notes all librarians hate to throw away any book but feels bad that an estimated 4000 books were thrown away over the last two months in Davenport.
